We asked three designers to put together holiday decor inspiration boards using their favourite holiday decor themes. Evelyn Eshun brought us a romantic Parisian Storybook, Lisa Canning gave us a vibrant Fanciful Peacock decor scheme and Heather Segreti put together a sparkling Glittering Gold scheme. Browse our Decor Concept gallery below to see the pieces these three designers choose and why.

THE DESIGNER Lisa Canning

THE INSPIRATION Inspired by Peacocks, this is a lush, vibrant approach to Holiday decorating.

CREATE THIS LOOK AT HOME by layering cobalt blue, emerald green and bronze in a variety of textures. Mix glitter with matte fi nishes, feathers with soft furs, and patterns with solids for a dynamic, playful and seasonal look.

I LOVE THIS HOLIDAY LOOK because it is fashion forward, fanciful and fun. I like introducing a bit of whimsy during the Holidays and peacock feathers and Mongolian sheep fur mixed together certainly keeps it fun.

  • I feel that people should go with the colors they love. I have 5/6 theme’s and rotate them per year. This year I am doing ocean (fish) items in royal blue/turquoise and aqua. I will use garland, pic and do funky things like a fish stocking for Christmas, adding cricut cut fish to candy canes, I will hang from a fake palm tree. I believe you should pick colors that make you happy. There is no right or wrong with any color you pick.
I also do gold, a silver, white, a red/white, and eggplant/gold/olive green theme’s. I have had so much fun putting them together.

  • Hello Di – we agree! There really is no right or wrong as long as you love it. The ocean theme sounds fantastic – you’ll have to send us some pictures once you get it all set up.
