Hire Your Designer First

Plan, plan, and plan some more for the best results. Your designer is there to help you build your vision and recommend the right trades to help you get the job done.

Budgeting is always easier and more accurate when you already have a good design plan laid out. It can be tempting to go it alone in an effort to save money. However, having a seasoned and experienced guide to show you the way will likely create a more enjoyable, enriched experience and almost always saves you time and money.

Be Flexible

Accept the inevitable. Stuff happens despite the best plans. Have a good sense of humor and be ready to roll with the punches. This is where having the right team in place can pay dividends. A designer, architect, and builder who can work together and share ideas will go a long way in helping you keep your sanity.

Be Confident in Your Choices

Nothing slows down a new home build or adds to the cost more than an indecisive homeowner. Once construction starts, it will cost you time, money and perhaps your sanity, if you change your mind. – Text by Rebecca Hay
