I love that the design world knows how to throw a party!

After many months of planning, Van Gogh Designs and The Goods showed their party spirit when they threw open the doors of their gorgeous new 15,000-square-foot showroom in Surrey, BC and let me tell you, they definitely know what it takes to host a very special evening!

I had the pleasure of attending the event but chatting with Bik Dhindsa, VP Sales and Marketing, and Kam Sangha, National Sales Manager. Their enthusiasm was infectious. I caught the vibe! I loved the overall look of this gorgeous showroom. The scale of this space is impressive, with soaring warehouse ceilings, thoughtful furniture groupings and that all-important attention to detail.

Prominent among the party-goers were the stylish interior decorators and design enthusiasts who turned out to toast opening night, check out all the new products and take in a sweeping bird’s eye view of the factory. The event kicked off the launch of new fabrications and showcased the new Glen and Jamie Designer Collection, designed by the fabulous design team of Glen Peloso and Jamie Alexander.

Following their merger as partners, these two design celebs co-founded Peloso Alexander Interiors. The Van Gogh event officially launched their new upholstery brand, “Glen & Jamie Designer Collection,” which is now showing at The Goods. In the interior design world, Glen Peloso and Jamie Alexander are well-respected names and I have been following them avidly throughout their journey. As a designer myself, I was beyond thrilled to finally have the chance to chat and connect. Meeting them reinforced my feeling that they are true design visionaries. Now I’m a bigger fan than ever!

The party was a show-stopper. With a sumptuous array of food and divine cocktails, it hit a hospitality home run. It was so much fun to have a DJ on the scene laying down an eclectic music mix that made for a great vibe and a very cool party atmosphere. I rubbed elbows with some of the best local designers, furniture buyers and distributors for the Western provinces. We were all lucky enough to get a close-up look at the hottest new interior design finds.

After more than 20 years of manufacturing handcrafted, Canadian-made upholstery furniture in beautiful BC, Van Gogh Designs embarked on a new journey to bring their customers imported home goods from all over the world – and so The Goods was born. After visiting many inspiring global locations, Bik Dhindsa, VP Sales and Marketing, says they were able to carefully curate a selection of beautiful home furnishings and accessories that meaningfully aligned with the great style, quality and pricing that Van Gogh customers have grown to expect and love. They proudly showcase a selection of unique styles, from contemporary and industrial to mid-century modern and rustic.

Van Gogh now houses the largest “trade only” furniture showroom in Western Canada, featuring over 100 styles from Van Gogh Designs and over 200 from The Goods, which of course includes the Glen and Jamie Designer Collection. With plenty of work spaces and selling tools, the showroom makes for an excellent place for interior designers to bring clients.

As their brand proclaims, “It’s Good to be Home.”
