On April 27, 2013 Kelly Penuita of DecoChic Interiors held her second annual Free Color Talk at Sherwin-Williams on Pembina Hwy. The presentation she gave was extremely informative and educational. She talked about different neutral colors and provided a demonstration on how accessories can be used to compliment these colors to make your room stand out. Neutral is so much more than the old standard boring beige, today we find that taupes, grays & greens are also being used as a neutral base. From this base almost any color scheme is possible.

Coming into the event, even the most timid about color and decor, left with a newfound confidence to go home and redecorate with a purpose. The talk inspired everyone present and armed them with the ability to revive their neglected projects at home and drive them to completion.

One member of the audience was heard after the presentation commenting that they felt they were watching a program on HGTV and that they couldn’t believe how fluid the presentation was covering many areas of neutral colors in a very informative way.

There was also a segment done by the Sherwin-Williams store manager, Riley Chambers. He shared with the group some of the tools that he has found to work the best for his painting jobs over the years as well as what has worked best for his clients and the contractors they serve.

Another Color Talk presentation is already in the works!

  • I really like Sherwin Williams paint. I especially like their colors. I have used my Color911 app (from Color911.com) many times to choose my own colors and take it to the paint store on my iPad or iPhone and buy the paint colors there. Rather that using the pre-printed color suggestions from the paint store which everyone uses, with the app I can create my own palette and match the colors at the store. I highly recommend the Color911 app if you are looking for color inspiration!
