One request we have been getting more of lately is for bedside reading lights. I am so impressed with the amazing options out there today. Such beautiful design solutions that actually fix a problem and don’t take up space.
If you’re building or renovating you have the luxury of no cords; installing lights and not dealing with cords as you may have to do with a finished home. This little pot light was put directly over each bed pillow in a gorgeous master bedroom of an older home during a renovation.
The best part is that you don’t have to stretch over to shut off the light as the switches can be placed within reach on either side of the headboard. The spotlight gives you just enough direct light and won’t bother the person next to you.
Even if you find the right light and it requires hard wire installation, many come with conversion kits from plug-in lights to direct wiring and vise versa.
So why go thru all this trouble? What’s wrong with just bedside lamps? Well, as bedrooms are getting smaller, like this bedroom found in a beautiful downtown apartment in Vancouver, is no room.
