A Traditional French Bathroom Reimagined

At One Group Design + Build, timeless elegance is more than an aesthetic — it’s a philosophy rooted in craftsmanship, intention, and enduring beauty. Their French Inspiration design board captures the romance of traditional French interiors while seamlessly integrating modern comfort and functionality. The result is a bathroom that feels both storied and serene — a refined retreat designed to stand the test of time.

At the heart of the space is the dramatic beauty of Calacatta Viola marble from Cava Surfaces. Known for its striking veining and rich movement, the stone brings depth and artistry, setting the tone for the entire room. Its bold character is softened by a carefully curated colour palette: OC-45 Swiss Coffee on the walls, OC-40 Cloud White on the ceiling, and 1232 Fresh Brew for accents by Benjamin Moore. Together, these hues create a layered balance of warmth, brightness, and subtle contrast.

The warm glow of brass fixtures enhances the room’s classic European influence. The faucet collection — including the floor-mounted tub filler and shower kit from Vogt Industries — features delicate French-inspired detailing in both handle design and silhouette. These thoughtful touches echo the elegance of old-world craftsmanship while maintaining contemporary performance.

Serving as the undeniable focal point is the Madrigal Grande freestanding bathtub by Fleurco. Sculptural and inviting, it anchors the space with quiet luxury. Paired with refined plumbing fixtures and framed by classic tilework, the tub becomes the room’s “main character,” offering both visual impact and everyday indulgence.

Supporting elements further elevate the design. The Davenport Slim Almond Coast vanity by Teodor Vanities introduces clean-lined cabinetry that balances tradition with restraint. Ridged cabinet pulls from Armac Martin add a subtle decorative flourish, while the Veil One-Piece Toilet by Kohler ensures sleek, modern functionality.

Tile selections reinforce the European narrative. Hampton Beige floor tile from Ciot grounds the space in warmth, while the Casablanca 2×6 tile from Zia Tile introduces texture and artisanal charm. The precise tile layout speaks to the meticulous attention to detail that defines French design heritage.

Finishing touches complete the ambiance. The Natasha Mirror and Asalea Double Bath Sconce from Lighthouse Co. provide soft illumination and graceful lines, enhancing the bathroom’s inviting glow.

Designed by Nathalia Hara of One Group Design + Build, this bathroom concept honours the romance and refinement of traditional French interiors while embracing the comforts of contemporary living. It is a space where every detail — from stone to hardware — is thoughtfully curated, resulting in a sophisticated sanctuary that feels both timeless and beautifully livable.
