Creative Applications for Pantone’s Color of the Year at Your New Year’s Eve Party

It’s official! Pantone has dubbed Ultra Violet the 2018 Color of the Year and the masses seem to have mixed feelings about it. The unexpected hue certainly comes as a surprise, especially when compared to the 2017 Color of the Year, Greenery, which was famed for it’s nature-inspired subtly. But don’t discount it yet because Ultra Violet has a lot to offer. Symbolic of visionary thinking, unconventionality, artistic brilliance, and spirituality, this positivity-packed hue is bound to make a splash when integrated into your New Year’s Eve decorating scheme. Keep reading for some applications I’m drawn to.

These effervescent fairy lights are chock-full of whimsy, and as an added plus, they’re LED, meaning they’re durable, safe, and worth their price tag.

For Your Wall Decor

This fringy garland works as part of a photo booth backdrop or to cover up the crayon marks your toddler left on the wall. I can also envision it on the backs of chairs, or fastened to the stair railing. I especially like how Ultra Violet is integrated into a fairly classical New Year’s Eve color scheme.
