the holiday theme Contemporary

the goal To create a fresh take on traditional Holiday colours of red, green and gold with raspberry, yellow and Kelly greens.

how she created this look? I love fresh flowers and greenery so I incorporated everything from yellow tulips to wreaths on the bookshelves to create a lush, sophisticated look. The colour scheme was inspired by the velvet, sunflower yellow English roll arm sofa. I had some white garland that I noticed was the same width as a table runner so I used it instead of fabric for a sparkly alternative. I found some halos at a store and bought every single one to give away to friends.

Maria’s styling secret: Wrapping boxes as I did with coordinating paper and ribbon is an easy and inexpensive way to finish the tree from the start of your Holiday decorating. Blown glass ornaments placed upside down on candle holders and mixed in with other Holiday décor add more sparkle.
