Gingerbread House
This gorgeous gingerbread house is a dream home for any gingerbread man! Designed and built by Andrea, Jennifer and Kelly – talented members of the Discovery Dream Homes design team – the gingerbread house features a gorgeous timber frame and log home design reflective of the gorgeous award winning homes that Discovery Dream Homes is known for.  With the exception of the lighting, the gingerbread house is entirely edible from the Discovery Dream Homes sign to the “cedar” shingles and the “log”  and “stone” chimney and walls. The designers didn’t miss a single detail! I particularly like the swimming pond with a lovely little foot bridge and fire pit just ready for entertaining guests. The little snowman in the front year and Santa going down the chimney are the perfect finishing touches. The custom Discovery Dream Homes sign was created by East City Bakery but the rest of the project was designed and built in house!

The Discovery Dream Gingerbread House is part of a special event taking place this week to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Businesses in the Peterborough area are submitting their best gingerbread house designs to be raffled off at Pete’s Games on December 13 with proceeds going to support the Habitat for Humanity “Home of the Petes” Youth Build Project. A panel of local judges will also be awarding a prize for the best gingerbread house design at the event.

A special thank you to Discovery Dream Homes for letting us show off their fabulous creation and best of luck at the competition tomorrow! If you would like a chance to win this gingerbread house, it will be raffled off on December 13, 2012 as part of the Pete’s Games festivities at the Memorial Center in Peterborough, Ontario.
