Easter egg hunt(NC)—With cousins, nieces, and nephews showing up – not to mention your own kids – hosting Easter dinner can become overwhelming when trying to think of activities to keep kids busy. Here are some tips to keeps kids entertained this Easter:

Combine Easter decorating with expressions of the season. Use construction paper to make Easter eggs and bunnies. With Easter symbolizing new life and new opportunities, have kids write on the cut–outs something they are excited about now that winter is gone. Place one at each place setting for adults to read.

Easter dinner time theatre. Have some old clothes and costumes on hand, and have the children come up with a festive skit they can share with the family after dinner.

Create an Easter blessings basket. Bring some new life to the traditional Easter basket and make a difference at the same time. Have kids visit a website like www.ccfcanada.ca where Christian Children’s Fund of Canada, an international children’s charity, offers a number of instant charitable gift options for families in poverty–stricken countries. Kids can print out pictures of the Easter gifts they want to send to children in need – like baby chicks – and place them in a basket. Adults can ‘vote’ for their choice by dropping change into each Easter blessing basket. It is a fun, meaningful activity for kids and your entire family.
