Savvy storage tips from Canadian Home Trends’ contributors and bloggers.

Simplify with Photo Labels

Image 2 of 7

When you are going to store items you must do it in a couple of steps. The first is to determine if the elements you’re storing are worth the effort of storage or if they have served the life span of their usefulness and should be donated to someone else. Second find a water tight, easily stackable storage container to put them in. The most important element is the label which helps you find the items quickly when looking for them. Many write the contents on the box but “kids clothes” is less helpful than having a photograph. Lay the contents out and take a digital image. Print that and let that be your label. You’ll know exactly what’s in that box, which kids clothing and what colour. Items are stored and easily accessible. - Glen Peloso, National Design Contributor, Peloso Alexander Interiors
