Evelyn Eshun’s love for design started when she was just eight years old, always moving furniture around and going from room to room decorating and reorganizing. She enrolled in the Interior Design program at Ryerson after high school and started working on her own in 1994. Evelyn is a member of DDA, ARIDO, and IDC, which gives her the opportunity to connect with colleagues and take advantage of learning experiences. Evelyn loves learning about different interiors around the world and the way that climate affects the architects’ and designers’ choices. She is very hands-on with her clients and is inspired by being able to give them the dream space they have always wanted.

CANADIAN HOME TRENDS – If you could have lunch with any one person in the world, who would you pick and why?
EVELYN ESHUN – I would love to have lunch with Morgan Freeman. His voice, wise nature and calm demeanor would inspire me to dig deep into that part of myself that keeps my fire lit.

CHT – What advice would you give your younger self?
EE – Trust your gut and take care of yourself first so that you can be the best version of yourself for those you love most.

CHT – Name one thing on your bucket list.
EE – I love horses and I already crossed off part of my bucket list by going to Vienna’s Spanish Riding school to see the Lipizzaners in a show. I would LOVE to ride one of those horses for even a few minutes. This has been my dream since I was little.

CHT – What is your favorite room in your house?
EE – I love bathrooms, which is a space where we are typically alone, prepping for the day or night. It is a space where materials, color, temperature and overall mood makes all the difference in how one begins or ends the day. – Evelyn Eshun, http://www.evelyneshun.com
