How to design a charming country Christmas. When decorating this farmhouse-inspired basement for Christmas, I wanted the decorative elements to complement the existing aesthetic of the space. I would stay within the existing color palette of whites, off-white and natural wood with green and blue for accents, adding hints of gold for sparkle! The aim would be to ensure that the decorations result in a cohesive space as if they were meant to be there. I would aim for an effortless, not overdone, Christmas look.

The fireplace is the focal point of the apartment. I would select a pine garland to adorn the mantle with a mixture of white and off-white knitted stockings. I would place one Juniper wreath in the picture frames on either side of the mantle. These wreaths would have pine cones attached, for a rustic charmed look. I would chose two different types of greenery because I think it would bring some visual interest. I would fill the lantern to the left of the fireplace with gold Christmas tree ornaments with different finishes and textures. The mantle would be finished off with decorative bottle brush Christmas trees.

To continue the cozy and warm feeling, I would add a few festive throw pillows.

The dining table continues with the subtlety of Christmas, dressed with a Llex Berry Garland, and a mixture of Christmas tree shaped and gold candle lights. The dining table is a place to gather so I prefer less
decorations around the table.
