4 Must-do Fall Activities for Families

For some, the period of weather limbo, when it’s cool enough to wear a scarf but warm enough to wear shoes that don’t require socks, is a favourite. A family fall date is a great way to welcome in the season and spend some invaluable quality time with those you love the most. Need some ideas? Look no further.

Apple picking

And once you have the apples, consider homemade apple juice, apple pie or candied apples so that your family can enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Visit a haunted house

With Halloween approaching, it shouldn’t be hard to find a local haunted house to take the kids to. And if you’re feeling creative, you could always DIY your own.

Bake

Let your kids choose the recipe and do the bulk of the baking while you supervise and perhaps helping measure and deal with the oven. And if you’re doing Thanksgiving dinner, let them be in charge of the dessert so they can show off what they’ve learned.

Pick out your own pumpkin for Halloween

Visiting a pumpkin patch simply screams fall. Plus, pumpkin patches typically have other fun activities for you to enjoy, like a corn maze, a farmer’s market and perhaps even a petting zoo.
