As you can imagine, being the online editor for a national decor magazine, I am inundated with trend reports and predictions at this time of year. Incorporating all the trends into your decor each year would be impossible! If you are looking to update your decor with some of this year’s hottest trends, I suggest choosing a few of your favourites and sticking to those. Here are some of my favourites for 2014!
Mix and Match
Unexpected or untraditional combinations are everywhere this year. Designers are mixing gold and silver finishes, creating colour palettes that blend together contrasting colours, using stripes with florals, combining vintage with modern, etc. Layering finishes, colours and patterns can be tricky but the result is a room with personality, texture and visual interest when done correctly.
