It’s that time of year again … where major players in the paint game, such as Pantone, Beauti-Tone, Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Behr dominate your Pinterest accounts with their predictions for what’s going to be trendy in the year to come. Keep reading for four of my favorites.
Black Flame, by PPG Paints
Black Flame is what happens when you infuse black with a deep indigo undertone. Experts are calling it the new neutral; one that pairs well with a diverse array of colors, finishes, and textures. Caliente, by Benjamin Moore
Are you looking for something strong, radiant, and full of energy? Look no further than Benjamin Moore’s 2018 color of the year: Caliente. According to Ellen O’Neil, of Benjamin Moore & Co.: “Caliente is the signature color of a modern architectural masterpiece; a lush carpet rolled out for a grand arrival; the assured backdrop for a book-lined library; a powerful first impression on a glossy front door. The eye can’t help but follow its bold strokes.”
Hawthorn Rose, by Pantone
If you’re like me and you’ve been partial to pink for practically ever, you might enjoy Hawthorn Rose, by Pantone. Hawthorn Rose is as if pink grew up, went to university, and is now a career-driven business woman taking the world by storm. According to Pantone Color Institute executive director, Leatrice Eiseman, “Pink has developed more power than ever before.”
Overjoy, by Sherwin Williams
Cheerful, warm, and not taking itself too seriously, are three ways in which to accurately describe Overjoy, a hue from the “connectivity” color pallet by Sherwin Williams. The warmth in the hue makes it one that pairs well with wood accents and earthy tones.
