Let’s face it, most people DON’T have unlimited funds when it comes to decorating. We are often faced with “wants” that are not in the budget, or a look that we would love to update but no extra cash to complete it. Maybe you are moving and want to glam up your kitchen first or maybe a full renovation is not in the budget. A simple solution that is easy on the budget is wallpaper! …..YES…..wallpaper!
Often when we are staging properties for sale we use this technique but it translates to decorating and can be a big impact on a small budget, usually less then $100.00.
All you need to do is find a wallpaper that looks like a tile, or a stone, or a painted “tin” tile and hang it in a long strip horizontally on your back splash, no strips or matching required, just unroll and hang, it’s that easy!
If you choose the right design, people won’t even notice it isn’t real tile; it gives you the look without the contractor or the mess. You could even do it yourself in just a few hours!
