SMALL SPACE MAKEOVER: Dressing Room

DIY photo

In this project, the broadloom was replaced with hardwood flooring and walls were painted Benjamin Moore CC-490. The Master bedroom had one small walk-in closet that the couple found to be insufficient storage space. Therefore the solution was to use three IKEA PAX BIRKELAND wardrobes which run across the length of the room. They fit beautifully and look like custom-built wardrobes without the custom-built price. In the wardrobes, the clients now store their everyday clothes. They now use the walk-in closet just for shoes, bags, suits, dresses and coats. Upon solving the storage solution there was enough area to add a vanity table and chair where the clients can get ready. By using the affordable MALM desk from IKEA as a vanity table it kept the budget low allowing the client to splurge on the chair and area rug from HomeSense. By adding some reflective surfaces with the use of mirrors, chrome lamp, crystal look knobs, and artwork the dressing area was all glammed up. The Liza Pendant Lamp in black from Urban Barn was suggested and will be added later on. The clients enjoy their new master bedroom with dressing area.
