When planning a space for family, a bit of out-of-the-box thinking can lead to a space that goes above and beyond. When designing this basement for a family of four, Designer Gabriele Pizzale turned a small nook into a highly functional space that offers storage, a quiet place to curl up with a good book and an extra bed for overnight guests. We love the use of a dark color to highlight the space, adding a bit of drama to the room while at the same time, creating the feeling of a separation between the bed and the activity in the rest of the room. This, combined with soft, welcoming textures in the linens, create a space that welcomes you in to relax and unwind.
