Designed for a young couple who loves to cook and entertain, this kitchen needed to allow them to enjoy both activities to the fullest. A large island with a bowl sink and dishwasher is just the start. The kitchen also features a professional 8 burner range with a strong but quiet hood, an integrated fridge, freezer, wine cooler and fridge drawer, a steam oven and a coffee station. Every inch of the kitchen is specifically designed to maximize the use of space with a lift for the KitchenAid mixer, a recycling center, a spice rack drawer, a bookshelf, a knife drawer, cabinet pull downs and more. Because the homeowners were not very tall, a ladder was also included in the design to allow easy access to the upper cabinets for storage.
To bring in the couple’s welcoming and warm personalities and maintain flow with the rest of the house, three different finishes were used. A combination of paint and wood finishes add character to the space and gives the
impression of a “collected look.” Door styles were also selected to give a subtle touch of unique personality within the space while still maintaining the modern feel of the rest of the home. Since many of the high end appliances were already owned and in almost new condition, they were reused which freed u budget for extra details like a kitchen faucet that filters water and supplies both still and sparkling water on demand!
It’s important, when designing your dream kitchen, to think beyond the pretty images you see online or in magazines. A true dream kitchen design should focus on function and organization that is customized to you and how you live. A well-designed kitchen has drawers and cabinets allocated for every single type of item in your kitchen. You do not want to spend thousands of dollars renovating a kitchen to then realize that there is not enough room to store your glassware, or that your recycling bin does not work for your lifestyle. You also need to consider the flow between your work centers, how many cooks work at the same time in the kitchen, how you like to entertain, the size of your These are factors that you need to discuss with a professional so that you end up with a beautiful kitchen that you will actually enjoy using!
