LOCATED IN THORNHILL, ON, THIS NEWLY BUILT CONDO WAS PURCHASED BY A RETIRED BANK EXECUTIVE AS A WEEKEND CITY ESCAPE OASIS.

A place where she could visit with friends and play Mahjong long into the evenings. Having worked with her previously to select the finishes during the pre-construction stage, she reconnected with Designer Christine Elliott to help her decorate and furnish the condo.

Even though this space is mainly used by her, she wanted it to be practical when her daughter visited with her grandkids. This was achieved by using family-friendly fabrics in the living area and sourcing a stylish sofa that converts into a sofa bed for extra guests. Since the entire space is only 576 square feet, Christine selected pieces that would provide extra storage and functionality, like the TV console which is a bar cabinet and added another cabinet in the bathroom for toiletries and towel storage. They also turned the “plus den” into a dining space that could easily be converted into a game table when it’s her night to host Mahjong.

What Christine loves most about this project is the transcending feeling you get when you enter. From its stunning long city views through the floor-to-ceiling windows, to the soft and feminine vibe created by the selected décor and color palette, it’s now a stylish pied-àterre that really could be anywhere.
