Designer Spaces

Mindful Design

For Daniel, a successful Canadian businessman and recent empty nester, this renovation was about celebrating change,
and a new stage in life. Catering to a lifestyle that embraces health, mindfulness, creativity, love and of course, lots of fun, each level has its own purpose.

Enter the main living level from the gated courtyard to a foyer designed to replicate a modern art gallery and a floating walnut and glass staircase. To the east of the staircase is a sitting room featuring a 16’ leather sofa and a 100” TV. The backyard pool area, complete with a cabana room, can be accessed from this room. In the gourmet Euro kitchen, a modern white marble waterfall island is accented by two hand blown globe chandeliers and a full suite of chef-worthy appliances. In the formal dining room, a 12’ span of glass opens up to the main outdoor deck for open air dining.

In the entertaining level below, a backlit glass and walnut bar area provides seating for up to twelve people. This is the hub of the entertaining area, tying together the 1,200 bottle wine cellar, billards lounge, piano area and fireplace lounge.

A separate room houses a home theatre with stadium style seating, a 190” screen and a commercial Karaoke stage for hours of endless fun! Two guest bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kickboxing studio finish off this level.

Finally, located at the top of the home with unobstructed views from Mt Baker to the US San Juan Islands and over to
Vancouver Island, is the owner’s personal retreat. Along with a luxurious master bedroom, a personal gym, spa bath and a yoga massage sanctuary, there is over 1,500 square feet of outdoor space
