18 Gorgeous Kitchens Designs – This house had a previously closed in kitchen that was dark and dated. We opened up the entire main floor, expanded the kitchen and created a large island for eating and entertaining. The oversized pendants definitely add a pop of warmth and glamour to the space. – Yvonne Whelan, www.yvonnewhelandesign.com
High contrast black and white kitchens are gorgeous kitchens designs and a hot trend right now but they can be a little cold. In this kitchen, we’ve paired black cabinetry with white cabinetry and opted for a statement making custom range hood and wood floors to add warmth to the space. Gold hardware adds additional warmth and plays off the glamour brought in by the shimmering mosaic tile. – Gillian & Co, www.gillianco.com
This kitchen was designed as the hub of the home where a busy family of five could congregate with friends and family members around the large, backlit onyx island. This contemporary kitchen represents a mix of modern materials including an oak island, white cabinets, an island with waterfall sides, natural stone countertops and stainless steel feature cabinets. – Teresa Cain, www.interiorsolutionsdesigngroup.com; Photo by Barry Calhoun Photography, www.barrycalhoun.com
We love the look of light countertops paired with contrasting dark or woodgrain cabinets. This custom kitchen features Polar Ice fine grain recycled glass countertops with a thinner edge profile. The same material is used as a slab backsplash which adds modern appeal to the space. This nonporous, stain and scratch-resistant and low-maintenance countertop is a great choice for any kitchen. – Granite Transformations, www.granitetransformations.com

This kitchen offered a unique challenge with a long, narrow space. To make this space as functional as possible, we designed a walk-through kitchen with an island placed in a nook at the end. The island offers added storage, extra work space and a place to entertain while leaving the kitchen feeling bright and airy! – Patricia Noddle, Kitchen Land, www.kitchenland.ca
To stay on budget for this project, we designed the space to fit the homeowner’s existing plumbing and electrical as much as possible. Today, we’re seeing a move towards darker and more dramatic color
schemes in the kitchen. If you still love your all white kitchen but want an
updated look, Tuxedo kitchens, an elegant color blocking of black and
white cabinetry, countertops and walls, are a trend that has taken hold
for its simplicity and elegance. In this space, an all white kitchen gets a
trendy update with Calacatta Cava from 180fx® Laminate on the island
countertop and contrasting Black Bardiglio from Formica® Laminate on
the main countertop. These two gorgeous, contrasting finishes give the
space a trendy look without a complete renovation! – Formica, www.formica.com
This home featured a very generous kitchen space which required careful space planning to ensure that the entire space was utilized. This large family loved to entertain so we designed a more traditional island with stools and a prep sink and a second island that houses a large banquette with lots of storage. – Gabriele Pizzale, www.pizzaledesigninc.com
This modern, glamorous kitchen design was born out of a love for so many different design styles and brings together modern cabinetry with a traditional furniture style island and an old-world antiqued mirror backsplash. The result is a stylish kitchen that blends an unusual combination of finishes and materials to create a modern and glamorous look. All this while incorporating all the functional kitchen basics and innovations that can adapt to changing family activities and the hustle and bustle of every day life. – Dvira Ovadia, www.dvira.com
The homeowners wanted an all white transitional kitchen that worked when entertaining and hosting their big family. With that in mind, we came up with this oversized island to accommodate family and friends when entertaining and lots of counter space perfectly for food preparation. We used an almost all white/neutral color palette topped with oversized pendants for a more classic design for them to enjoy for years to come. – Red Barrinuevo, www.redesign4more.com
When designing this large formal kitchen for a growing family of four, we chose a monochromatic scheme to create softness and allow the space to evolve with the family over time. We used a mix of elements and textures to create contrast within the monochromatic space. We also included elegant and organized storage solutions to eliminate clutter. – Annaliesse Kelly, www.annaliessekellydesign.com

18 Gorgeous Kitchens Designs – People tend to stay away from dark, bold colors in their homes for fear of strangling the space. However, in this kitchen, the elegant walnut and aged brass accents serve to brighten up the usually dark areas. The glass doors on the accessory bar add openness, and the shine on the black backsplash brings light into the room by creating reflective surfaces. The brass details on the hood canopy, bar stools and cabinetry add a pop of color and a feel of elegance to complete the room, while the framed style of cabinetry elevates the look of the entire space. – Thorpe Concepts, www.thorpeconcepts.com

18 Gorgeous Kitchens Designs – When a kitchen is in great shape and just needs a facelift, cabinet refacing is a great choice! I had the cabinets refaced in an earthy sage green that looks fantastic with the gorgeous white quartz countertop and backsplash. The finishing details of matte black in the hardware and faucet and wood in the pendant light and stools give it a mix of materials and warmth. We also did black stainless steel in the appliances giving the kitchen an updated look. We kept the layout of the kitchen the same but the transformation is amazing! – Karla Dreyer, www.karladreyerdesign.com
