Having recently moved back from the Cayman Islands, the homeowner was missing island life. She wanted a bright and elegant space that would incorporate subtle touches to remind her of their previous home. We started by replacing the old sunken bathtub with a new spacious freestanding one, and chose a capiz shell chandelier to hang above it. Glass tiles in a scallop shape make up the shower and large format tiles were used on the floor to minimize the amount of grout lines. We also added picture moulding to the walls to add some architectural interest and painted them in a soothing blue green tone. White in the cabinetry and accessories help bring a beachy vibe to this understated island inspired ensuite.
