Challenging Kitchen Reno – Thinking ‘Outside of the Box’

Designing a kitchen never goes as perfectly as you want it to. Challenges always arise. Check out this before and after video of a kitchen we designed for a environmentally conscious young couple; we faced and embraced many challenges, using each one of them to our advantage to help enhance certain design elements! It”s all about looking ‘outside of the box’ , you’ll see.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKXwTyNnKcM.

It’s a SVEA Kitchen, consisting only of lower cabinets in the main kitchen area with open, floating shelves on top. On the other side we were able to create a full wall for storage – utilizing every single inch of wall space.

The beautiful Quartz countertop came from Diresco (http://www.diresco.be/) from Innovation Stones Ltd. (http://www.innovationstones.ca/).  Check out the detail around the stove- we created a small ledge with countertop to box it in, to match the boxed in look of the windows.

So remember – no renovation is easy, especially when it comes to kitchens. You have to be creative in finding ways to overcome challenges.. and if you can’t.. then hire us!!
