A beautiful tablescape can seem like an intimidating prospect, especially when you’ve seen so many examples of polished finished products. But if you break down the elements of a good tablescape, you’ll find that a gorgeous, easy, and wallet-friendly solution isn’t very far away!

Before you start, take some time to consider the look you’re after, and gather up supplies.

2. Use what you have.

Dig through your stash of ribbons, vases, cloth, and anything else that could be used for décor. Base your table’s look around things that you already own; that way you won’t be overwhelmed with the trouble and expense of new purchases. This method also stops you from straying too far away from your home’s décor as a whole; whether your tablescape is sleek and modern or cozy and traditional, it will look best in a house that matches that aesthetic.

However, if you find something versatile that you know you’ll use frequently, like a beautiful set of table linens or a tiered tray, then by all means buy it! Just try your best not to purchase every single piece of decor.
