As we round the bend into the second half of the decade, we can expect a colourful, eclectic mix of trends. 2015 promises to be an exciting year for design, with some interesting twists on old trends, and some shiny, brand new ones.
Scandinavian Design
Whitewashed floors and walls, simple shapes, light woods and lots of texture are the hallmarks of Scandinavian design. This clean, thoughtful and perfectly balanced design style is just as suited for Canada as it is for Scandinavia. With its airy yet cozy feel, it is fresh during our hot summers and warm during our winters. Because of its simplicity, Scandinavian design complements lots of other styles and can be integrated into many different spaces. Pair it with urban/industrial, mid-century modern or global design for an interesting, eclectic look.
