CANADIAN HOME TRENDS Do you have a favorite designer or design style?
JEANNE BEKER Different things will inspire me at different times and in different situations. I am blessed to have both a home in the city where I work as well as a country home we can retreat to for quiet family time. I love the difference between the country life and city life. Spending time at our country home opens your eyes to a different point of view and a different way of life. I enjoy variety in my wardrobe and the pieces you will find in my city closet vs those in the closet at the country house are quite different.
CHT If you could go back 20 years, what advice would you give yourself?
JB Twenty years ago I was a recently divorced single mother of 2 young girls and the future seemed overwhelming. I would tell myself that everything is going to be OK. Don’t give up on yourself and don’t give up on life. Most importantly, never settle in life or in love! Compromise is not a dirty word but don’t settle simply because you don’t have the patience to wait for the right one.
CHT What’s new and exciting for you right now?
JB September 14th, I launched a fashion and lifestyle podcast called Beyond Style Matters. I am very excited about some of the fabulous guests we have coming up for that! I am also working in collaboration with Shannon Passero on a new line of eco-friendly, sustainable clothing that I am quite excited about. – Jeanne Beker, www.jeannebeker.com
