Open Concept Kitchen: After Staging

Do the cabinets have a sturdy base and doors that are less than 10 years old? Are they in good enough shape that if they were cleaned up and possibly painted freshly, they could stand another 3 years of use? If you can salvage your cabinets then you are in good shape. If not, a full renovation may be in order. If your cabinets are older than 10 years, it would be a waste of money to add new countertops, tile or flooring to the room as it would still need to be renovated. The stark contrast of brand new updates and old cabinets would be too much.

If the cabinets pass the inspection, properly prep and paint them ( you can find this online or hire a professional painter). Then look at doing a countertop and back splash tile update. This, along with neutral freshly painted walls, new cabinet and drawer pulls, lighting updates and possibly new appliances will all qualify your kitchen for a second look from potential buyers.
