High Point Live: On Our Way

EDITOR’S NOTE: Evelyn Eshun, Designer and Canadian Home Trends Design Blogger, will be attending High Point Market this year and blogging about her experience through-out the weekend! Check back daily October 17-21 for updates and inspiration from the show!  You can also follow Evelyn on the Home Trends Instagram page for a sneak peek at the fabulous finds she will be blogging about!

I’m thoroughly excited to be attending the 2014 High Point Market this year; not only for networking, learning and insight, but for INSPIRATION. As a professional in the business of design, I need to recharge the creativity bank once in a while. High Point Market is one of the best venues to do just that.

One of the largest furnishing and accessory trade shows in the world, High Point North Carolina supports almost 100,000 people who descend on the small town twice a year. The saying goes “If you can’t find it in High Point…it probably does not exist”

Statistics: 180 Buildings, 11.5 million square feet of show space, more than 2000 exhibitors and tens of thousands of new product introductions. With stats like that, your head can spin if you’re not focused on your goals during the almost 7 days of exhibition.

This year, I will be creating an update blog as well as videos from the Market in order to bring the experience to readers and viewers alike. Stay tuned for daily updates both informative and fun. I’m planning on ‘going with the flow’ and seeing what unfolds on my trip this time around, keeping an open mind for learning and inspiration.

Buses and shuttles are available at all times for transport from area to area. Not all showrooms are within the main buildings; the surrounding town has permanent showrooms which exhibit their wares.

Like a fashion show, some presentations are over the top but this is meant to inspire rather than be copied exactly.
